Pricing

Each website or project is different, as much so as the client and their individual requirements, whether it be the number of pages required, the interactive features required, whether graphics need to be created etc. etc. Due to this we base our pricing on a fixed rate of £16 per hour, certain options i.e. requirement of domain name registration and webhosting, are fixed costs that would be added to the final figure. Please note that Database and server side scripting work e.g. in an e-commerce site will incur a higher hourly rate of £25 p/hour due to the more complex and specialised nature of this work. We will supply an estimate of the cost of your project after the initial Free consultation. Please ask for an estimate.

To give you some idea of the costs involved we would expect a small 'static page' site of approx. 6 pages, with all graphics and copy/text supplied, that did not require domain name registration or webhosting to cost in the region of £300.

Webhosting which we can arrange for you would incur a monthly charge in the region of £10 per month, this would be paid by you directly to the web host. However we would if you so wish remain your technical contact with the webhost. Please note we can also offer our own Webhosting which will include full facilities, i.e. pop3 mailboxes, cgi-bin use, ftp access, email autoresponders, we can arrange a package to suit you specifically. Prices will start from as little as £8 per month.

Domain name registration which can be arranged by us (you would be the legal owner of the domain) would cost in the region of £10 for a .co.uk domain, and around £30 - £35 for a .com domain. This is for a 2 year period, please note these are standard fees that do not produce any profit for us.

Updates and maintenance which can optionally be done by us would be charged at our hourly rate of £16 per hour.

'Facelifts' , improvements and additions to existing websites would be charged at our hourly rate of £16 per hour. Prices for these jobs can generally be estimated in advance.

Finding the right Web designer

You are well advised to shop around when looking for your web designer, a good pointer to the likely quality of your finished site will come from the designers site (such as this one), if their site looks anything like this one you are advised to leave well alone!
It is also a good idea to email previous clients of the designer to ask their opinion on the service provided.

Working with Internet Standards

The W3C or world wide web consortium is responsible for setting standards and recommendations for Web coding and software production. These standards have evolved substantially over the last few years meaning that it is possible that over time many existing websites will have underlying code that is no longer supported or rendered by future browsers. You can be assured that we follow the recommended standards, thereby helping to safeguard your website into the future.
